Speaker Rescue: Water Eject
Speaker Rescue helps push water and dust out of your iPhone speaker with sound, and lets you test your speaker and microphone. It plays a low tone and a frequency sweep through the speaker, then can listen with the microphone to compare the sound before and after. It also includes a sound level meter, Noise Log, dB Camera, audio tests and tips. Audio is analyzed on your iPhone and never saved.
Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
Pick Water or Dust and the speaker you want to clean (bottom speaker, earpiece or headphones), then start a 15, 30 or 60 second session. The app plays a low tone of around 165 Hz and a sweep; the vibration helps push water or dust out of the speaker openings. Hold the phone with the speaker facing down. The app asks before it raises the volume to maximum, and you can stop at any time. Afterwards it can compare the sound before and after with the microphone, so you can hear and see whether it got clearer. Never hold the phone to your ear during a session.
Does it dry my phone?
No. Speaker Rescue does not dry, repair or waterproof your phone, and it cannot guarantee a result. It only helps move water or dust that sits in the speaker openings. If your phone got wet, let it air dry and follow Apple's guidance for wet devices (search "If your iPhone gets wet" on support.apple.com).
Is my audio recorded?
No. Sound from the microphone is analyzed on your iPhone and discarded. Only numbers (sound levels and a verdict) are kept, on your device. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How much does it cost?
Most features need a subscription or a lifetime purchase. The plans, any free trial and the prices are shown in the app, from the App Store, before you buy.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Speaker Rescue and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also open Subscriptions in the App Store. If you are in a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. A lifetime purchase is not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel. For a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple handles refunds.
How do I restore purchases?
Open the app and tap Restore Purchases, on the paywall or in Settings (the gear icon). Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If nothing is found, check that you are signed in to the right Apple Account, then contact us.
